The Breastfeeding Coalition of Greater Sacramento is a non-profit association of regional representatives, businesses, mothers, lactation consultants and other health care professionals. We welcome anyone interested in improving infant, family and community health by making breastfeeding the societal norm as we promote, support and protect breastfeeding in all areas of life.

About the Speakers:  

Kathleen Kendall-Tackett Ph.D., IBCLC, FAPA is a health psychologist and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. An extremely accomplished author, she has written more than 320 journal articles, book chapters and other publications, and is author or editor of 22 books in the fields of trauma, women’s health, depression, and breastfeeding. Kathleen has academic appointments at both the Department of Pediatrics at Texas Tech University School of Medicine and the Crimes against Children Research Center at the University of New Hampshire. Jeanette Panchula RN, PHN, IBCLC is a bilingual Public Health Nurse, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, Peer Counselor Trainer, and has worked internationally helping mothers with their lactation support needs. When training she works closely with the California WIC Association, the California Department of Public Health, Solano County WIC, and A More Excellent Way Peer Counselor Program. Jeanette has received recognition for her outstanding work over the years, given numerous presentations, and has also contributed to a handful of prominent publications regarding lactation and breastfeeding, cultural sensitivity, improving communication, etc.
